As students
who regularly experience colossal homework loads, we know first-hand
that homework adds a lot of stress to our lives. That prompted
us to take on the cause of educating teachers and school officials
in our community about the real and proven consequences of the
enormous amounts of homework elementary, middle, and high school
students commonly receive. School administrators have assumed
for years that homework is beneficial. We believe homework actually
does more harm than good, and research supports our opinion.
